Riverside Park Music Festival

Today the Friends of Riverside Park Board met. We discussed our August 10th Music Fest at length. We believe for the safety of our attendees and bands and kid’s programs, canceling our music event was the best decision. The Park has a very high-water saturation level. It would be hard to anchor tents, set a band trailer, play games or build with Home Depot, or enjoy our usual kids’ activities with our areas currently in water.
We just toured the park and saw excess water in many areas not normally under water this late in the summer. The rains are not subsiding in the near future according to the weather reports. We have decided to cancel the Music Fest because of the conditions in the park.
We will continue to sell our raffle tickets as it is our only fund raising this year. On August 10th we will have the drawing and award the $500.00, $300.00 & $200.00 to our winners. We will call/contact them, and I will list them with permission on our Facebook page after contacting them.
